City Mayor of Kragujevac
    

Veroljub Stevanović was born in Kragujevac, on September, 17, 1946. He graduated in his birth town at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 1972 and got an engagement in the Car Factory ZCZ, on January, 27, 1972 at production, technology and maintenance issues.

In 1977, he left the Car Factory Zastava Works and was appointed Deputy General Director for technical issues in the Health Care Centre "Dr. Mihajlo Ilić".

Almost ten years later, in 1986, he came back to the Zastava Factory as Director of one sector in the Factory – Car Montage Zastava Works, and next year he was appointed Director of production, and soon after Director of Factory– Car Montage Zastava Works.

Stevanovic’s political carrier is turbulent as well. In the period from 1993 till January, 2001 he was a MP in the National Assembly of Republic of Serbia. From 1997 till 2001, he was member of Republic Council in the Assembly of SRJ.

Among the citizens of Kragujevac, he is well known as first democratic mayor of the City, from 1996 till 2001.

In the period from November, 2000 till February, 2001, he was head of Ministry of Industry in the transitional government of the Republic of Serbia.

He is a Head of MPs’ club of New Serbia and independent MPs 9+9 in the National Assembly of Republic of Serbia. He is a Head of the Industry Board, too. He is a member of Council for Strategy Consolidation of the Zastava Group.

He speaks two foreign languages.

He is married and has two daughters, Katarina and Jelena.

The Mayor of the City performs the executive function in the City. He is elected for a period of four years, by direct and secret voting in accordance with the Law. He can not be a representative of the City Assembly.



Deputy Mayor of Kragujevac

Saša Milenić, poet and professor of Philosophy in the First Grammar School, born in 1967 in Foča. He attended primary and grammar school in Kragujevac, the both as juvenile and student of the generation. He graduated at the lecturing desk for philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade with the mark 10 and average study mark 9,5. He is a member of the Poets’ Association of Serbia and one of the initiators of Sumadian Culture Center. He published four books of poems and many essays and literature critics.

He was the first president of the Council for Monarchy Renewal in Kragujevac (1997). He is a member of Serbian Democratic Renewal Movement, where he is the president of the City Board in Kragujevac and member of the party council. He is one of the ideologs and initiators of the Koalition "Together for Kragujevac" and its first president (2002).

He married Sonja Vukosavljevic – Milenic, pianist and has three children: Nikola, Anica and Strahinja.




President of the City Assembly of Kragujevac

Prof. Dr. Dobrica Milovanović was born on December, 30, 1954 in the village of Desimirovac near the City of Kragujevac. He is married and has two children.

He graduated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac as scholar of the University and student of generation with average mark 9,03. Thereafter, he
obtained MS and Ph.D. in the field of technical science. During his magisterial and doctoral studies, he passed specialization in the Great Britain as scholar of the British government.

He is full professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac and at the Faculty of Technical Science in Kragujevac. He is visiting professor at the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences in Kragujevac and at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Pristina.

He is the author of two university textbooks, one monograph and over 70 scientific works, most of them published in international magazines or exhibited at scientific conferences abroad (Great Britain, Greece, USA, Japan, Germany, and Czech Republic etc.).

He was invited to give lectures at many universities in Greece, Great Britain and the United States.

He took part in the realization of many scientific – research projects, what resulted often new products in our factories (pumps, pumping aggregates, small hydroelectric pumping stations) and improved the level of energy efficiency (water supply system of the City).

He is former deputy president of the City Assembly of Kragujevac.

Improving international cooperation and taking part at many meetings abroad, he gained personal reputation and made the City of Kragujevac remarkable in the European circles. At the general Assembly in Barcelona, on July, 02, 2004, he was elected to be a deputy president of the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA), established by the Congress of local and regional authorities of Council of Europe. He speaks English and Russian.




Deputy President of the City Assembly of Kragujevac

Jovan Pavlović-Bojadžić was born on August, 16, 1961 in Kragujevac. He is of Kragujevac’s old family of manufacturers.

He has been employed for twenty years. He is married and has two children. He is neither a member of any political party nor a member of organization.

He is a founder of NGO – “League for private property and human rights protection” in Kragujevac. He is a president of the regional board for the Region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje and member of the managing board of “League for private property and human rights protection”.
